Sales Associate - Full Time

We are seeking a Sales Associate. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, highly intuitive with the ability to think abstractly to arrive at concrete solutions, and possess self-confidence, imagination, and ownership. Accepted candidates will undergo a six-month paid training period. This is a position best suited for former educators or candidates with experience in the education field.
Cambridge is a small-to-medium publishing and consulting firm that partners with educators to achieve advancement for all students. Cambridge works directly with schools and organizations to provide data-driven assessments, supplemental curriculum resources for standardized tests and college and career readiness skills, teacher training, and student motivation seminars. To support our target audience, the Cambridge Grant Award Program has given over $10,000,000 to assist underserved youth. Job Type: Full time, part time, and intern level available
Required responsibilities and skills:
- Achieve a preset six-month sales goal
- Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers, following leads with meaningful dialogue, analyzing customer needs and problems, and crafting solutions
- Maintain existing accounts by establishing and cultivating personal relationships with clients, offering advice, and creating a partnership
- Expand sales to existing accounts by advising clients of changing conditions in the educational arena, notifying them of product and service additions and updates, and reminding them of the availability of and applications for existing and new products
- Leverage established company-client relations to promote other Cambridge products and services, to identify and close new client accounts, and to cross-sell additional Cambridge services and products
- Attend local, regional, and national trade shows, conferences, and other events to publicize and promote products and services
- Create and make presentations to professional and service groups using PowerPoint and similar applications
- Prepare effective written communications including E-mail, letters, marketing materials, proposals, etc.
- Maintain clear and detailed activity records in the company database
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred
- Sales or account management experience is preferred, but not required
- Background in education is a plus
Compensation:
- Base salary commensurate with experience plus additional compensation opportunities
