The Illinois Department of Human Services is seeking a motivated, compassionate Social Services Career Trainee to join our dynamic team in Decatur, IL. This is your opportunity to receive comprehensive on-the-job training in public assistance programs that help individuals and families in need.

💼 What You’ll Do:
• Receive hands-on training in managing public assistance cases (TANF, SNAP, Medical Assistance, etc.)
• Inform clients about welfare programs, child support, and work incentives, helping them navigate and access vital services.
• Evaluate client needs and make referrals to appropriate services to ensure the best outcomes.
• Gain experience in case management tasks like budget computation, eligibility determination, and records updates.

📚 What We’re Looking For:
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in social science or a related field of the social sciences.
• Passion for social services and a desire to help others.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well with people.
