Manager of Economic Development

The Montrose Group is seeking a Manager of Economic Development in either their Cincinnati or Columbus offices with experience or seeking experience in the day-to-day operation of economic development programs, strong interpersonal communication skills, is a problem solver, and has strong research and writing skills.  The Montrose Group’s Manager of Economic Development will serve public and private sector clients, participate in regular team calls to manage client services, and market the company’s services. The Montrose Group’s Manager of Economic Development will receive an annual compensation package estimated at $60,000 to $100,000, parking, a performance-based bonus and 401K plan (after one year of service) and other benefits. 

The Duties.  The Montrose Group’s Manager of Economic Development will serve clients with corporate site location, economic development advisory, economic development planning, land use entitlements and incentives, and project finance matters. 

  • Corporate Site Location.  The Manager of Economic Development may provide corporate site location services such as market, workforce, housing, site development, cost of doing business analysis, incentive negotiations, and incentive reporting.
  • Economic Development Advisor. The Manager of Economic Development may provide economic development advisory services to communities to implement economic development programs such as project management, incentive reporting and negotiations, business retention and expansion, site consultant Outreach, marketing and communications, housing, industrial and office park, and Brownfield redevelopment project development.
  • Economic Development Planning. The Manager of Economic Development may provide economic development strategic planning services through research and writing, community listening sessions and community action plans, and the creation of the site, Downtown Redevelopment District, workforce, housing, industrial park, incubator, office park development, and other economic development strategic plans. The Manager of Economic Development needs to have experience in GIS mapmaking work.
  • Land Use Entitlements and Incentives. The Manager of Economic Development may provide negotiations and advocacy services for land use entitlement and economic development incentive services for companies and developers.
  • Project Financing. The Manager of Economic Development may provide public and private sector clients with gaining project financing for industrial parks, public infrastructure, residential developments, technology centers, and other economic development projects.
  • Marketing. The Manager of Economic Development may provide marketing services for the Montrose Group including the development of a marketing list, support the Annual Montrose Group’s Economic Development Program, and support the general marketing of the Montrose Group, and develop a bio for use on the Montrose Group’s marketing material including their web site and proposals.
