Student Orientation Undergraduate Leader
March - June 2018 • Oxford, OH
What I liked
This job was a great way for me to make connections at Miami and further develop my leadership skills.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have this job again this summer, but SOULs are only hired for one summer so that we can diversify the team.
Advice
I would encourage others to apply to this position even if they don't think they would be good at it. A lot of students assume orientation leaders need to be energetic and excited all of the time, but that's simply not true. The Student Orientation Undergraduate Leaders at Miami University exemplify a diverse array of people who each bring their own unique personality to the team which makes for an amazing learning opportunity within the job itself.
